These delicious Smoky BBQ Beans have a fantastic flavour thanks to our Oak Smoked Rapeseed Oil. With three different types of beans, this recipe is super filling and is a brilliant source of vitamins, minerals, fibre and protein. By drizzling in extra Oak Smoked Rapeseed Oil after cooking, an incredibly deep and rich smokiness is added to this dish, giving it a brilliant BBQ flavour. Serve these Smoky BBQ Beans with fresh sourdough, on toast with a fried egg on top or alongside sausages and mash potato.
3 tbsp Mellow Yellow Oak Smoked Rapeseed Oil
1 large white onion, sliced
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1 fresh red chilli, finely chopped and seeds removed
1 tin baked beans
1 tin kidney beans
1 tin butter beans
1 tin chopped tomatoes
1 heaped tsp smoked paprika
1 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
Fry the onion in 1 tablespoon of the Oak Smoked Rapeseed Oil until softened.
Add the garlic, chilli, smoked paprika, sugar, salt and pepper. Fry for a couple of minutes more.
Add the balsamic vinegar, baked beans, kidney beans, butter beans and chopped tomatoes.
Simmer for around 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Remove from the heat, add the final 2 tablespoons of Oak Smoked Rapeseed Oil and stir in.
Serve with freshly baked sourdough, on toast with a fried egg on top or with sausages and mash.
