Spinach Pesto Recipe with Walnuts

A simple twist on the classic basil pesto recipe, we have used spinach and walnuts to add a nuttier flavour to our spinach pesto recipe, perfectly complemented by the subtle nutty flavour of Mellow Yellow Cold Pressed Rapeseed Oil. Perfect for using on pasta, as a dip, or to create delicate canapés. So much better than the usual pesto found in jars, making it yourself gives you so many options to personalise your pesto and add your favourite herbs and nuts.

100g spinach
5g parsley (roughly a handful)
5g basil (roughly a handful)
50g chopped walnuts
50g parmesan, grated (or a vegetarian alternative)
80ml Mellow Yellow Rapeseed Oil
3 cloves of garlic
Juice and zest of 1 lemon
Salt & Pepper, to taste


Add all your ingredients to a food processor and blend until smooth. Add salt and pepper to taste and serve.
