BBQ’d and Griddled Asparagus and Mayonnaise


The best way to enjoy British Asparagus is simply griddled or BBQ’d, an easy to way to ensure this seasonal delight retains both its delicious flavour and important nutrients.

Our Mellow Yellow Cold Pressed Rapeseed Oil is perfect for using on the griddle or BBQ as it has a high smoke point, its buttery, nutty taste also compliments the delicious nutty flavour of the asparagus!

We’ve paired this wonderful asparagus with our quick, flavourful homemade mayonnaise recipe.

Ingredients

Asparagus
Mellow Yellow Rapeseed Oil
Salt and Black Pepper
Mayonnaise

Method

Prepare the asparagus by snapping off the woody ends. Preheat the griddle or BBQ. Drizzle over a little Mellow Yellow oil and season with salt and black pepper, rub the asparagus to coat evenly in the seasoning and oil.

Griddle or BBQ on a high heat rotating the asparagus every couple of minutes until char lines are showing and the asparagus has softened slightly (around 8-10 minutes in total depending on the thickness of the asparagus spears). Delicious served with our very easy to make Mellow Yellow Mayonnaise.
