Operations Manager – Northamptonshire

Salary: c. £50,000 (according to your experience)

Working Days: Monday to Friday

Working Hours: 8am-5pm Monday to Thursday, 7am-2.45pm Fridays

 

We have an exciting new job opportunity at Farrington Oils! We are currently looking for an Operations Manager to take on this brand new role at our HQ in Hargrave, Northamptonshire (NN9 6BP).

An exciting opportunity to join a successful, family-run food manufacturing business producing high quality award-winning culinary oils and salad dressings, established over 18 years. Sold nationally across retail and food service, with high environmental and sustainable credentials. Based in a rural setting with a well invested production facility and motivated team. We are a successful, environmentally conscious food manufacturing business.

As a key part of the Management team, your role will encompass overall responsibility for the efficient and effective running of production, covering all aspects of the production activities, forecasting, stock purchase, maintenance and despatch.

 

Key tasks:

-Actively manage production team to deliver high hygiene and safety standards to SALSA accreditation and HACCP.

-Manage and develop staff through correct training standards and appraisals.

-Maintain accurate demand forecast in conjunction with the National Account Manager.

-Efficiently maximise production levels whilst managing waste and other direct costs, implementing and driving forward Key Performance Indicators.

-Procurement of all products and components from approved suppliers.

-Developing and following accurate Standard Operating Procedures, including Health & Safety requirements.

-Planning and execution of maintenance for all equipment.

-Work with Technical Compliance Manager to ensure food safety, authenticity, legality, and quality of all products and operations.

-Liaise with Managing Director to ensure production targets are met, including capital expenditure requirements and process enhancements in line with agreed ROI and on budget.

 

About You:

-Professional aptitude.

-Strong operations or senior production track record within food manufacturing.

-Excellent knowledge of continuous improvement, efficiencies, wastage, margins etc. is essential.

-Strong team and people management skills including performance management.

-Clear grasp of process management and a methodical approach.

-Good knowledge of automated food production equipment.

-Good level of mathematical aptitude.
