January Newsletter
We were very busy in December
with all the shows, and of course Christmas to get ready for. We’ve been producing oil for everyone to use on their roast potatoes, and dressings and mayonnaise to liven up those left over bits of turkey, and Christmas buffets. As a result this is just a quick note this month.
We have all had some snow and cold weather which has caused the usual chaos around the country. I personally love some ‘proper’ winter weather, but at the same time spare a thought to those wanting to travel to see relatives at this time of year, and the old and frail who may not enjoy the conditions so much. These conditions keep us busy, as each year we go round the village with the tractor to clear the roads to help everyone get around a bit more safely; then there’s the usual frozen water pipes to contend with, and finally having to tow grain lorries laden with wheat out of the farmyard to ensure everyone gets their bread, biscuits and breakfast cereals.
Anyway, may I wish you all a very happy and hopefully prosperous New Year from all here at Bottom Farm. We are off with the family for our first skiing holiday together, which we are all very excited about, before school starts again, so lets hope all the trains, planes and automobiles are working again ready for our travels.
I will be back properly next month.
